Randwick Yoga Space welcomes everyone! All levels of fitness and physical ability, all ages, all those who are brand new to yoga and all who have a more experienced yoga practice. Yoga is an amazing way to connect into your body, mind and breath with many layers and so we encourage you to come to class and practice at your own pace and level. We believe yoga to be so much more than the physical practice of increasing strength and flexibility, by linking the yoga postures into the breath and meditation it can lead to a much deeper path of health and healing
Your teacher:
After teaching for other studios for 12 years Hollie started running her own classes as Randwick Yoga Space in March 2014. Hollie started going to yoga classes at a time when she was often anxious and unsure of herself. She was drawn to yoga as a way of calming down and within the first few classes realised the practice of yoga was healing the part of her that felt so imbalanced.
Hollie completed her first 2.5 year yoga teacher training with Mark Breadner and Karen Schaefer at Nature Care college in 2002 and then went on to an Ashtanga yoga apprenticeship with Eileen Hall at Yoga moves. Over the years Hollie has also studied with Bianca Matchliss at Yoga Synergy, Clive Sheridan and attended numerous workshops with incredible teachers such as Sri K Pattabhi Jois and T.K.V Desikachar. She continues her yogic studies with teachers in Sydney, India and Nepal and regularly does meditation retreats with renowned Tibetan Buddhist master Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe of Drogmi Buddhist Institute, whom she met in 2001.
Hollie’s classes are based on the breath being the guide into the posture and the link between postures. Using the breath to release areas of tightness and tension in the body and mind. Her classes are an equal blend of dynamic flowing poses and stillness to sit with the sensations in the body, mind
Hollie's passion and dedication to her own yoga and meditation practice is the inspiration for her teaching and foundation for her classes, she believes the purpose of yoga is to bring our physical and energetic body and mind, back into balance so we live as honestly, authentically and joyfully as possible.
